Daily Grammar Practice (DGP)

We start each day with DGP. The kids know to come into the classroom, grab their folder, and take out their DGP Resource Packet and Paper. It's a great routine to start off each class period.

Monday-Wednesday, I have students try to do the DGP on their own first for a of couple minutes, then they can talk with table-mates, and after that we do it on the board together. Thursday's and Friday's DGP apply what we have learned the previous three days about the sentences; students do the independently with some hints from me.

Monday: Parts of Speech
Tuesday: Sentence Parts and Phrases
Wednesday: Clauses and Sentence Types
Thursday: Punctuation and Capitalization
Friday: Diagramming
